10 Years of Big & Little Dogs
We started with
one dog problem.
Ten years later, we're still solving it - just with a lot more harnesses, a lot more dogs, and a lot more grey hair.
How it started
A pet expo, an empty pair of hands, and a gap nobody else was filling.
Back in May 2016, Emma was in Melbourne for a pet expo, hoping to find matching accessories for her two very different dogs - Charge, a Great Dane, and Chase, a French Bulldog. She walked away with nothing.
Turns out nobody was making accessories that suited a giant dog and a smaller dog at the same time. So when Emma mentioned it to Megan later that day, we decided to fix it ourselves.
On 15 May 2016 we registered the business. Six months of long nights, sampling and second-guessing later, we launched Big & Little Dogs in November 2016 - as a side hustle we ran alongside our full-time jobs.
It didn't stay a side hustle for long.

Two best friends, based in Brisbane, still very much in the trenches.

Runs the numbers, tweaks the website and spends most days at our Brisbane HQ. Owned by two Cavoodles, Harvey and Charli, who both think they run the place.
Emma
Co-Founder & Social Media Manager
The reason BLD exists in the first place. Usually found on a hike with her Great Dane Bolt, who has a following of his own.

In loving memory of Charge & Chase
Emma's Great Dane and French Bulldog are the whole reason Big & Little Dogs exists - and the inspiration behind our original geometric logo. Charge passed in April 2020 and Chase in February 2021. Ten years on, their memory is still stitched into everything we do.
