Why should I feed fresh?
Good health starts with good nutrition, and like us, dogs feel the difference when they eat fresh meals made from real ingredients. Lyka's food is gently cooked to maximise nutritional value, formulated with high protein, moderate fat and low-GI carbs, developed by a team of board-certified veterinary nutritionists alongside Lyka co-founder and integrative vet Dr Matthew Muir. After feeding thousands of Aussie dogs, their community reports healthier digestion, less itching, a shinier coat, fresher breath and healthier gums.
Is Lyka suitable for puppies?
Yes. Lyka's meals are complete and balanced for all life stages, including puppies, formulated to go above and beyond AAFCO and FEDIAF standards. Puppies need more daily nutrients than adults to fuel healthy growth, so a nutrient-dense diet gives the highest benefit from the small amounts they can eat. As they grow, simply update their weight in your account and serving sizes adjust automatically.
How much does Lyka cost?
Price depends on your pup's serving size, calculated from their weight, breed, age and activity level. Answer a few quick questions on Lyka's site to get your exact price and serving size.
How do I store my Lyka meals?
Keep meals in the fridge or freezer - Lyka contains no artificial preservatives, so they won't keep forever (a good thing). Store pouches in the freezer for 6 months, or the fridge for 7 days unopened and 3 days opened. They can be refrozen once after defrosting. Pop a pouch in hot water to defrost quickly, or move the next day's pouch to the fridge the night before.
Can I mix Lyka with other dog food?
Yes. When transitioning your pup to Lyka, we recommend a gradual mix with their current food so their gut microbiome has time to adjust. You can also choose Lyka's half plan, where you get half your dog's usual portion to mix with other food.
